Shabbat Kolot: Shabbat of Voices

שבת קולות

Shabbat Kolot (Shabbat of Voices) is a collaborative KI + Washington Square Minyan initiative that celebrates the many ways children and families experience Jewish life on Shabbat. Rather than asking every child to participate in the same program, families choose the experience that best fits their needs while remaining part of one shared community. Throughout the morning, the community gathers together, branches into different experiences, and reunites through prayer, music, learning, Kiddush, and relationship-building.

Together, we will celebrate multiple authentic pathways into Jewish life and Shabbat; empower families to choose the experience that best fits their children; build a clear progression from childhood engagement into teen leadership; and much more.

Morning at a Glance: Join us at 9:00 AM for free play/time, a chance to settle in, connect, and ease into Shabbat. At 10:00 AM, we’ll come together for dedicated community time before the morning continues with a variety of programs designed for different ages and interests.

Important Note: Outside of the Parent Schmooze and Family Programs, parents are strongly encouraged to participate in Shabbat services with either Kehillath Israel (Sanctuary) or Washington Square Minyan (Chapel), as Shabbat Kolot is not a drop-off program. Please stay on campus and in community!
